I was out at Kariotahi beach near Auckland hoping to capture some aurora and I had just bought a new Samsung S24 Ultra phone. The Milky way core and Galactic Kiwi were beautifully positioned directly overhead with great seeing conditions so while I was waiting for the aurora I had a play with all of the different settings. In the end the Expert Raw Astrophotography mode was the best. This is a stack of about 28 x 25.5 second images over 12 minutes. The camera then stacks and aligns the images like Sequator to give a RAW output file. This file was really clean and after processing in Lightroom, Photoshop and Topaz Denoise to finish I was amazed at the final result.
