I had been trying to get a milky arch over the Taranaki Maunga from the Ahukawakawa swamp for about 5 years, however every time I tried it either fogged in or the wind was too strong. On this particular night I headed up the mountain for a sunset shoot and had spent the night wandering around taking various astro shots before heading down to the swamp to try my luck again. As I made my way down I stopped for a brief moment to check the milk way and noticed a white glow in the swamp, I took a test shot which confirmed that the fog had come in once again. I decided to a pano from where I was on the track.
