I stood in awe as I watched the sky erupt into a myriad of colours in every direction! I looked to the north towards Aoraki/Mt. Cook and watched as this green curtain began dancing over the majestic peaks. My heart was racing as I captured this panorama, a shot I thought would never be possible. I later learned that the green band over Aoraki/Mt. Cook is a newly discovered auroral phenomenon referred to as RAGDA (Red Arc with Green Diffuse Aurora), making this the southernmost record of this recent scientific discovery!
