Recently I built an all-sky camera for Mount John Observatory for one of my engineering projects with the University of Canterbury. In no less than a month, we had one of the strongest auroral displays in 20-odd years. Many people were out photographing the aurora that night, but there were very few videos that captured the whole event. I built the all-sky primarily for the observers who work at the observatory, so that they can monitor clouds during their observing runs with the telescopes.
