With this image I really wanted to clearly capture the ice in the tarns and the frosty ice on the boardwalk, so I did a 5 shot focus stack which I manually blended using photoshop. It was freezing cold and it was a battle keeping my equipment from fogging / icing up as my lens warmer battery died and I didn't have another one, but I just managed to get the image done and am happy with the result. If I'd had more time it would have been good to have done the sky tracked but I'd already been shooting for hours by this time and I was running out of energy. One day I hope to get the tarns totally frozen over, but that doesn't happen often and when it does it's rare to get clear skies with no wind.
