[Timelapse] Submission 143059 – Igor Hooogerwerf

A timelapse of the rising galactic core with the famous Galactic Kiwi above the Burnett Mountains, shot from Mt Cook Airport. The timelapse starts in the light of a setting crescent moon, and ends in complete darkness. I have kept the white balance constant over the entire sequence so you can see how the color of the atmosphere changes over the course of the timelapse, and how it is affected by moonlight and airglow.
