A timelapse of the first few hours of that famous aurora night on the 11th of May 2024. I started shooting this timelapse just after sunset in the middle of the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve. It suppose to be a complete dark moonless night, but the aurora australis had other plans. This timelapse shows how the colors of the aurora completely changes to a sky wide waving greenish glow illuminating the entire landscape as if it was a full moon night.
