This shot has been on my dream list for quite some time. Nugget Point Lighthouse sits on the far southeastern tip of New Zealand's South Island, a location that’s both iconic and challenging to reach. Given that the lighthouse faces almost directly east, there aren’t many opportunities to align it with the Milky Way core. Timing and alignment have to be just right, and weather is always a gamble. Luckily, I finally got the chance to make it happen. With my two friends, a solid weather window, and a ton of gear in tow, we headed on a road trip to capture this scene.
