Story: Best eclipse I've ever seen! As you can see from the photos the moon looked spectacular as it set over the snowy slopes of Mt Taranaki. While total lunar eclipses (aka Blood moons) happen on average about once every 2 years, this particular eclipse for us was rarer as it's unusual to have an eclipse that reaches totality in twilight, so it made it much easier to photograph it as the dawn light illuminated the foreground perfectly. It was definitely worth getting up at 3am and dealing with 3 degrees C temperatures to get these shots.
