Te Kaihinaki (Moeraki Boulders) are a pretty special place at the best of times; I find the area so diverse and unique every time I visit. Shooting astro here has been on my to do list for a while and it took a couple of times to crack it. The boulders were quite chaotic and scattered after rough seas stripping back heaps of the sand, so after making my way there just before sunset, I scouted around and settled on this bunch leading into where the Milkyway was rising. For once upon darkness, I was blessed with very calm conditions and zero wind which was fantastic, with the addition of the most vivid airglow I've ever seen, it was very eerie.
Finished since 178 days, 14 hours and 40 minutes.
