Despite the light from a half-moon, this strong display of Aurora Australis brought the horizon to life, in this remote bay on Banks Peninsula. Bold red beams shot into the sky, visible both on camera and with the naked eye. This image was a challenging to capture, thanks to the strong southerly winds making shooting conditions extremely difficult.
