After a night of incredible display the Aurora seemed to have calmed down, just as we were getting ready to pack up and make the 5 hour drive home from New Plymouth at about 2am a beam started to shine from the top of the mountain like a search light, I lined up the camera and managed to capture it in all its glory. Visible with your eyes, it's a sight I won't soon forget.
