Aurora Over the Arawata Lagoon, South Westland - 142916

Stranded for days with a breakdown at the end of nowhere, I looked outside the van and the sky was very clear. A long walk with the tripod to this oceanside lagoon to try the camera on the Milky Way brought the unexpected delight of an aurora.
