The image was captured at Cliff Rd Jetty, Lake Tarawera. An aurora was predicted for the evening and just after 8pm I noticed a faint pink glow on the horizon behind the hills at the other end of the bay - so I took a very long exposure for an aurora and this is what the sensor picked up - I was stunned quiet frankly and got all excited to capture more which I did at Blue Lake just a few minutes away later in the evening
