Taken: March 27, 2025 at 2:45am Story: This aurora caught me (and many other aurora chasers) by surprise, as although I knew there was a chance of an aurora, I wasn't expecting it to be this good. Most of the night there was a diffuse auroral glow, but later in the night there were a few brief sporadic outbursts of aurora. This particular spot is one that I've scouted out before in the past in the daytime, and I've been waiting for the right opportunity to make the most of it. I almost didn't get this shot as my original plan was to be home and in bed by about midnight, but the clouds stayed away (despite the forecast for clouds from about 11pm onwards) and the strength of the geomagnetic storm kept increasing.
Finished since 178 days, 11 hours and 9 minutes.
