My original plan for the night was to capture an image of the Milky Way core, rising above this alpine tarn. Upon arriving however I realised there was a beautiful south facing alignment with the Milky Way, Magellanic Clouds and a nearby mountain peak. So I abandoned my original plan, and took this unexpected image instead. There was also a faint red aurora to the south on this night, giving a yellow horizon in combination with the strong green airglow.
