I’m showcasing Mt Sefton and The Footstool mountains with part of the west Milky Way arch. These mountains feel like they are in touching distance when you walk up the valley. The impressive, glaciated mountains are awe inspiring. The mountains are complimented beautifully by the teal water in the river that flows from direction of Sefton. I was also lucky in this shot to capture orange airglow which balances out the colours of the scene.
This shot was a bit simpler to obtain that the usual. I was fortunate to stay at the Canterbury Mountaineering Club Lodge which is a 10min walk from the bridge. I spent a bit of time taking in the scene and watching the colours of the mountain change as the sunset. As the blue hour came round, I captured the scene which I absolutely love. I was very lucky on this day as the track was quiet, and I did not have to move off the bridge.
