The centrepiece of the southern night sky. Circumpolar in New Zealand, and invisible to most of the world\'s population, the four bright stars of the Southern Cross are one of the most recognisable asterisms in the sky. You can find this beautiful pattern either in the sky above, or tattooed on the arm of any true Kiwi/Aussie bogan. To the left of the cross are the pointers, Alpha and Beta Centauri, two of the brightest stars in the entire sky. To the right, the great Carina nebula can be seen, alongside a number of fainter nebulae and open star clusters.
