Looking toward the centre of our Milky Way galaxy, there is a lot to be found. The red regions in this image represent areas of hydrogen, active star forming regions including the stunning lagoon nebula (centre-right). Made out of the dark, dusty clouds of our galaxy, in the photo you might be able to spot New Zealand’s national bird, the kiwi in the lower section of the image.
