This is a very colourful and rich part of the sky with many objects of different types. The yellow parts of the Rho Ophiucus nebula are being illuminated by the red super giant star Antares. There are a number of blue reflection nebulae, and dark nebulae throughout the field of view. There are also globular clusters such as NGC 6121 and NGC 6093 which are much further away than the cloud complex. The star forming cloud complex is one of the closest to us at about 460 light years away. Antares is further out at about 550 light years away. You may also notice the Blue Horsehead (IC 4592) at the bottom right side of the image.
