I love coming to this spot — a black sand dune surrounded by forest and farmland. It’s just a short drive from central Auckland, yet the night sky feels like a completely different world. With this image, I wanted to capture the vast emptiness of this peculiar place — its beautiful sand patterns echoing the vastness of the night sky. The zodiacal light was an unexpected bonus.
