My original plan was to head inland to photograph the eclipsed moon setting over the Canterbury foothills, however inland areas were forecast to be cloudy, so I had to search for an alternative location. Christchurch Airport air control tower is the highest in New Zealand with a height of 52 metres. Using the Photopills app I wanted to capture the eclipsed moon landing on top of the Control Tower. This is my image from the morning. The image was challenging as the airport is a brightly lit location, and the morning twilight was brightening the sky, so the moon faded rapidly as it did drop down down behind the control tower building.
