The start of a weeklong night sky/Aurora chase. The forecast wasn't great but I felt worth the gamble and Waipapa delivered. This is how my week started and only got better. Capturing such a wide panorama of the entire scene was just magical. I had been once before and was thwarted by clouds so I was always going to return in an attempt to redeem myself. While there was a small possibility of aurora, nothing could have prepared me for what was to unfold and no single image could convey the magnitude of the scene.
